The Fine Arts at Faith series will feature a concert by flutist Susan Telford and harpist Juliet Stratton at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 21. The community is invited to the event at Faith Lutheran Church, 9041 166th Ave. NE in Redmond. Suggested donation is $10 or as able.
The accomplished musical duo of Telford and Stratton is locally-grown — they are graduates of Redmond and Interlake High Schools.
Featured on their program will be compositions by American composers Vincent Persichetti and Alan Hovhaness.
Telford began her musical studies on violin and piano at the age of four, briefly studied cello, and then moved on to the flute.
She received her music degrees from the University of Washington and Northwestern University and has been a member of several symphony orchestras and chamber groups throughout the United States. In addition to giving private flute instuction, Telford has served on the faculties of several institutions.
Stratton also holds degrees from Northwestern University and the University of Washington. She currently performs with the Seattle Symphony and throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Stratton is a private harp instructor and a faculty member of the Marrowstone Music Festival and Washington Academy of Performing Arts.
