Guests at the annual EvergreenHealth Foundation gala on Saturday raised $1.42 million to support EvergreenHealth’s Stroke and Neuroscience programs to help advance the health system’s tradition of providing the highest quality, most advanced care with the best outcomes to the community.
The 17th annual Evergreen Gala, this year themed “Run for the Roses: Kentucky Derby,” returned to Marymoor Park in Redmond, Washington, bringing together more than 700 generous donors and community leaders.
The gala proceeds with assist the hospital in purchasing a bi-plane machine, a state-of-the-art interventional imaging unit that produces detailed 3-D images of vessels and blood flow within the brain in real time. This advanced imaging technology helps providers precisely identify the source of a neurological blockage or malformation in the vessels, and prescribe immediate treatment.
In addition to the festivities, a $100,000 surprise gift from the Keyes Family Foundation was announced in recognition of the 10th anniversary of EvergreenHealth’s award-winning stroke program. The Keyes’ contribution will go toward the purchase of the bi-plane.

Thanks to our generous donors, EvergreenHealth’s leading specialists and providers have increased access to life-changing therapies for their patients.”
The gala also recognized Carol James and the legacy of Coach Don James with the annual Spirit of Giving award, which recognizes the best in community philanthropy and those whose selfless contributions are crucial to the health and well-being of our friends and neighbors.
The annual black-tie gala, presented by Denali Advanced Integration, is the EvergreenHealth Foundation’s signature fundraiser, and has generated millions of dollars to support programs and departments across the organization. Past gala beneficiaries have included EvergreenHealth’s Transitional Care Unit for Behavioral Health, Family Maternity Center, Home Care and many others.
