This holiday season, the Emerald Ballet Theatre’s (EBT) production of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” will feature 23 dancers from Redmond.
The performances will be Dec. 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 2 p.m. at the Northshore Performing Arts Center (NPAC) at 18125 92nd Ave. N.E. in Bothell. All performances will feature the Rainier Symphony Orchestra with David Waltman conducting.
More than 175 students from the Emerald Ballet Academy will dance alongside regional professionals and four international guest artists.
The following dancers are from Redmond: Karin Amano, Sophia Avota, Bella Delgado, Ava Erickson, Nicole Esibov, Sachi Figliolini, Yulia Garaeva, Kelley Gibbs, Gracie Hammond, Taylor Ka, Olivia King, Tatiana Klimova, Kaelyn Lefferts, Oliver Lefferts, Maria Leonova, Emily O’Brien, Kate Povey, Emma Saraiu, Rachel Leah Seres, Brooklyn Villanueva, Carmina Westbrook, Julie Folting and Karen Orita.
The first weekend, Russian-born Tatiana Liabina will appear as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Liabina started her career with the Grigorovich Ballet of Russia, then danced with the Sarasota Ballet of Florida. Alexander Loxton will be Cavalier. Loxton is formerly of the Dutch National Ballet and was a finalist for Young British Dancer of the Year. The second weekend will feature Ballet West’s Stephen King and Whitney Huell.
EBT’s “Nutcracker” is affordable and accessible, making it perfect for families and a great introduction to live theatre. Tickets are $20 for youth, $30 for seniors and $35 for adults. Tickets are available at www.npacf.org.
