City will plug in its Redmond Lights event on Dec. 3

Redmond Lights, which celebrates the city’s diverse holiday traditions, cultures and faiths, will take place Dec. 3.

Experience this three-part, progressive event by starting at the City Hall campus tree lighting (4-6 p.m.); strolling down the Redmond Central Connector luminary walk (5-7 p.m.); and ending the evening at Redmond Town Center (6-8 p.m.). Along the way, enjoy musical entertainment, refreshments and fun activities for the whole family.

On the City Hall campus, attendees will enjoy highlights such as lantern making, watching light performer Kingsley Casayuran and collecting their signature Experience Redmond light blinkers (while supplies last). Mayor John Marchione, along with special guests, will then light the campus oak tree.

There will be a Holiday Market at the Redmond Senior Center from noon to 6 p.m. that will feature unique gifts by local artists along with cultural and holiday entertainment.

The walk will feature hundreds of luminaries and light displays along with Japanese taiko drummers, fire twirlers, the Keith Highlanders Pipe Band and eye-catching new light installations by four featured local artists.

At Redmond Town Center, there will be free carousel rides, an outdoor ice skating rink, live ice sculptor, kids’ crafts and entertainment from the local community and around the world. After 8 p.m., visit select downtown restaurants and businesses who will be offering special pricing and discounts for the We Dig Downtown After Party.

Parking is available at Redmond Town Center or the City Hall Parking garage. A free shuttle runs from 3:30-8:30 p.m. that day between both locations.
