Children got a chance to get into the spirit of Mardi Gras at a family friendly celebration, held last Saturday at Orange Blossom Society, a downtown youth enrichment center.
Activities at the Mardi Gras party included mask and necklace making, crafts, snacks, language classes and a parade.
Native-speaking teachers from Sponge, a children language education oragnization, led fun-filled Spanish and French classes. Orange Blossom teachers helped children adorn themselves with their own handmade colorful masks and necklaces, and then led a joyous parade around the gardens at Orange Blossom Society, which is located at 16715 NE 79th St.
