The Bear Creek School presents its annual Art and Young Authors Fair from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 28 at 8905 208th Ave. NE in Redmond.
The fair will feature more than 350 “published” student works, along with over 800 pieces of fine art.
Each student in grades kindegarten-6th-grade at The Bear Creek School participates in the Young Authors Fair through the creation of a writing project that they write, illustrate, and help to “publish” in the spring of each year (with the exception of fourth grade students who choose from one of three reports that they have worked on throughout the year – Martin Luther King report, presidential report, or a biography report).
Each grade focuses on a specific genre.
For example, the second grade students create fairy tales, the sixth grade students write mysteries and third grade students create their own fables. The art pieces are chosen from projects that students have worked on in art class throughout the year demonstrating a variety of styles and techniques.
