On May 20 and 21, The Bear Creek’s Upper School drama students will present “Alice,” an adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”

Directed by Bear Creek drama director Ron Lynch and featuring a cast of 42, the story depicts Alice (Abby Gomulkiewicz) as she visits a variety of strange and unusual creatures who reside in a land of wonder. Dominant in the story is the Queen of Hearts (Erica Leuenberger) whose outrageous ego enslaves all who come into her presence. In addition to many familiar characters such as the Mad Hatter (Jake Casale), White Rabbit (Ellie Probus), Dormouse (Kiersten Sprick), Caterpillar (John Mickelsen) and Cheshire Cat (Elisabeth Ersek), this version introduces new inhabitants whose zany logic confuse Alice and eventually drives her out of Wonderland.

“Alice” is a journey into a young girl’s vivid imagination and will awaken the child in audience members of all ages. Additionally, the show’s scenery has been illuminated with special paint brought to life by five 400-watt black light lamps and the soundtrack was written by Danny Elfman.

All performances are open to the public. Tickets are $5 for individuals or $10 per family and may be purchased at the door. Shows are Friday at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The Bear Creek School Cornerstone Theater is located at 8905 208th Ave N.E. in Redmond. For more information, call (425) 898-1720 or visit www.tbcs.org.
