The Redmond Arts Commission wants to hear from the community regarding the type and location of public art in Redmond.
The commission seeks input on the restoration of Art Hill, temporary public art located in the city and public interest in having art located in neighborhoods. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26 in Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th Street.
The Redmond Arts Commission makes recommendations to the Mayor and City Council regarding arts-related acquisitions, programs, projects and events. One of their tasks, arts-related acquisitions, recommends the purchase or loan of permanent and temporary art, outdoor art exhibitions and art in the neighborhoods.
But how is this art chosen? What are the guidelines and principles the Arts Commission uses when making its recommendations? The Arts Commission will answer those questions and listen to the community’s ideas about the program.
