Last week, the mediated settlement of the dispute over Group Health’s redevelopment of their former hospital site in Overlake was announced. Parties to that settlement were Group Health, the City of Redmond and “Sustainable Redmond and other petitioners.”

For the record, Sustainable Redmond (as an organization and two board members as individual petitioners) was joined by Villa Marina, the Friends of Overlake Village and former Redmond Mayor Rosemarie Ives in that land use appeal and in an unsuccessful nine-hour mediation attempt on April 23 as previously reported.

Through continued efforts at mediation by the Washington State Bar Association team, a negotiated settlement was ultimately reached. In the process, Villa Marina, Friends of Overlake Village and Ives withdrew as parties to the land use appeal. The negotiations were finalized by Sustainable Redmond (and individual board member petitioners) without participation of the other parties.
