JOHN CARLSON
Column full of ‘partisan hackery’
John Carlson’s praise for Dino Rossi’s losing campaign and criticism of Darcy Burner and Christine Gregoire in “The Impact of 2008 Elections,” in the Nov. 15 Redmond Reporter isn’t insightful commentary, it’s partisan hackery.
In the interest of full disclosure, why not change the name of the newspaper to The Redmond Republican?

SARAH PALIN
Glamor queen is not worth defending
Your Nov. 12 editorial is quick to defend Sarah Palin and suggest that readers give her a break because she never really wanted that glamorous $150,000 wardrobe.
I guess you’d also like to us to believe she didn’t really mean to spend government money improperly on her children, and she didn’t mean to use her power as a governor unethically against her sister’s ex-husband.
You’d like us to give a break to a woman who accuses Democrats of being socialist, while hers is the only state that shares the petroleum wealth with all its citizens.
You’d like us to stop finger-pointing at her, yet she’s the one our nation’s Secret Service asked to tone down her rhetoric because it was stirring up death threats against Barack Obama.
Listen, Sarah Palin herself says she didn’t blink when asked to run and, considering her love of attention, will not be fading away any time soon.
She doesn’t need the Redmond Reporter to defend her “honor” and your readers are smart enough to see through her and to see your editorial for what it is: sour grapes because your candidates lost.
