The GoGreen Conference is excited to announce that City of Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn and Microsoft Corporation’s Chief Environmental Strategist, Rob Bernard are both joining the Keynote roster for the region’s largest sustainable business conference. Mayor McGinn and Bernard add to an illustrious lineup of local and regional eco all-stars, including fellow keynoter, Climate Action green policy champion and Seattle Magazine Eco-Hero, KC Golden.
Mayor McGinn has long been an environmental advocate. His political and professional record as a legislative aide and lawyer, in addition to his service with the Sierra Club and as the founder of the Seattle-based non-profit, Great City, highlight a life spent working for earth friendly policy, a green economy and climate-conscious initiatives. GoGreen attendees will reap the benefit of his diverse experiences in the political, legal, local community and non-profit realms.
Rob Bernard has worked in several capacities while at Microsoft, but Environmental Sustainability has always captivated him. Now head of the corporation’s sustainable efforts, Bernard drives initiatives to lessen Microsoft’s environmental impact, develop new ecologically sound software and hardware, and collaborate with government, industry and non-government partners on local and global environmental issues.
McGinn and Bernard are accompanied by a bevy of Northwest champions for the environment at GoGreen ’10 Seattle, all of whom will share case studies, experiences and action steps for taking Washington State businesses to deeper levels of green and creating a green economy. Among their GoGreen colleagues are Nike’s Sarah Severn, Costco’s Sherri Flies, Nissan America’s Mark Perry, Waggener Edstrom Worldwide’s Heidi Reys and Celilo Group’s Nik Blosser.
