Redmond businesses make ‘Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling’ list

King County is honoring 89 companies — including 13 with Redmond ties — for reducing waste and increasing recycling, naming them “Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling for 2013.”

King County is honoring 89 companies — including 13 with Redmond ties — for reducing waste and increasing recycling, naming them “Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling for 2013.”

“The commitment and ingenuity that all these organizations have shown to prevent waste and to recycle deserve special recognition,” said King County Executive Dow Constantine. “From practices such as recycling food waste and cooking oil to collection programs for old batteries, bulbs and cell phones, these organizations show that sustainability can be simple and rewarding.”

The “Best Places” list, now in its seventh year, includes a wide variety of businesses in King County, ranging from hospitality, medical services, professional services, retail, finance, government, arts and entertainment and others.

The local businesses are:
