Jade Dragon Chinese Restaurant, 17181 Redmond Way, Suite 700 in Redmond, has added Vietnamese cuisine to its menu, including Pho made without the additive MSG (Monosodium glutamate).

Jade Dragon’s Syndy Ng described Pho as “Vietnamese comfort food.”

The noodle and soup dish incorporates meat, seafood or vegetables with fresh bean sprouts, basil and lime juice.

“Most restaurants put MSG into their food because it heightens the flavor without having to use lots of high-quality ingredients, cutting corners,” said Ng. “We at Jade Dragon do not believe in that. Our whole family eats here, as well. We only use the freshest ingredients that are healthiest for you.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, MSG is often linked to symptoms such as headache and nausea. Visit http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/monosodium-glutamate/AN01251.
