A Las Vegas-based company has recently opened a new office in Redmond and is looking to hire four engineers immediately.
iStreamPlanet, a multi-platform broadcast provider that offers high-quality video services including online video streaming and broadcasting, opened its Redmond office at 8561 154th Ave. N.E. in June. In addition to the two senior software development engineer and two quality assurance engineer positions they seek to fill right away, the company will eventually have 15 more local jobs available later this year, said product and services marketing senior director Jennifer Baisch.
She said for iStreamPlanet, moving to Redmond made sense for them as they already had connections to the city.
“We stream a number of Microsoft conferences and events,” she said, adding that the tech giant has been both a customer and partner.
Baisch, a Sammamish resident who is based in the Redmond office, added that the city’s strong technology background also made Redmond a natural choice for expansion because it gives them access to a large pool of talent. She said they are excited about being part of all the potential opportunities the area offers.
Baisch said iStreamPlanet is also contributing to the local economy with its various job opportunities.
iStreamPlanet was founded in 2000 and Baisch said they have worked with content providers such as NBC, Turner Broadcasting, AT&T and the 2008 and 2010 Olympics in Beijing and Vancouver, British Columbia.

iStreamPlanet’s Redmond office is the company’s second location in the United States and third worldwide. Baisch said the company also has an office in London.
“We are a growing company and think that Redmond is a great place for a growing company to be,” she said.
