Upscale movie theater company iPic Entertainment has brought new seating and expanded food and beverage selection to the former Gold Class Cinemas location at Redmond Town Center.

iPic Theaters opened in Redmond earlier this month with two seating options. Guests can sit on recliner seats equipped with a blanket and pillow while receiving in-theater food and beverage service the first 20 minutes of the film. Prices for these premium plus seats range from $22 to $27 depending on the day of the week. Guests can also purchase tickets for regular seats without in-theater service for $15 to $18.

“We want to offer selection, comfort, technology and service to all of our guests,” said Adam Riehl, general manager of iPic Theaters in Redmond.

Guests can dine at the Salt Lounge, where a fireplace and several TVs accompany a menu of signature food and drinks.

“We try to use as many local ingredients as we can,” Riehl said, giving the example of a cocktail made using Redmond’s own Mac & Jack beer.

The theater also provides a concession stand and two wine towers, which allow guests to select from 32 bottles of local and international wine. The towers can dispense one to five ounces of wine in a glass which allows guests to sample a variety of drinks, Riehl said.

Businesses and other groups can rent out cinema rooms for private events. New digital projectors can place PowerPoint presentations and video games on movie screens.

These changes occurred after iPic Entertainment bought the Gold Class Cinemas concept in October 2010, converting the six Gold Class Cinemas theaters to iPic Theaters.

Riehl said the Redmond theater hired about 50 additional staff members when it relaunched.

Around 22,000 people are currently members of iPic Theaters in Redmond. Members receive special promotions and discounts, and they can purchase tickets and reserve seats online. Anyone 21 and older can become a member by registering for free at www.ipictheaters.com.
