This summer, Digital Double, a motion capture and animation studio located in downtown Redmond, will offer four sessions of one-week immersion programs for teens.
The program consists of a closed-campus, hands-on, 40-hour session where students immerse themselves in a production animation environment and learn the ropes in a fast-paced workplace. Students will learn foundational principles of animation, create a character of their own and use the motion capture studio to bring it to life. All instructors are professionals in the field and experienced educators.
Applicants must be between the ages of 15-19 and have a willingness to learn and work hard.
All sessions will run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Session One is July 6-10; Session Two is July 13-17; Session Three is July 20-24; Session Four is July 27-31.
Application forms are at this Web site. Mail the registration form and a $75 deposit to Digital Double, P.O. Box 2965, Redmond, WA 98052. The deposit is non-refundable, but in the case of a class cancellation due to low enrollment, students will be offered the choice of attending another session or receiving a full refund.
Total cost of the program is $950 which includes lunches and snacks each day of the session.
All hardware and software will be provided, as well as a notebook, sketchbook and writing/drawing utensils. Students must provide their own transportation.
