Every other fall, I submit a two-year budget and six-year financial plan to the Redmond City Council. Together we review the cost of city services through performance measures, agree to achieve certain outcomes and evaluate our revenue levels as a percentage of community income (price of government).
It’s common for me to be asked, “Tell me, Mayor, what makes Redmond unique, and how has the city managed to weather the economic ups and downs so successfully?”

Our membership, consisting of the cities of Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah, Tukwila and the Sammamish Plateau and Skyway Water and Sewer Districts, work to produce water of the highest quality.
From successful celebrations of favorite local traditions, such as Redmond Lights and Derby Days, to an array of exciting, innovative construction projects under way at Overlake and in downtown, 2013 proved to be a rewarding year for our Redmond community.
