Redmond High School boys’ soccer team dropped its second straight game, falling to Newport, 5-2, in a Kingco 4A contest Tuesday at Walter L. Seabloom Field.

Redmond junior Andrew Leadbeater scored a goal — his fourth in the last three games — to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead, but the Knights stormed back as Jordon Thompson scored five straight goals to lead the Newport comeback.

Redmond’s Cooper Bilginer had two assists and Kai Brunson scored the Mustangs’ other goal.

With the loss, the Mustangs fell to 3-3 in the league standings and 7-4 overall.

Woodinville roughs up Redmond

Redmond High School’s Elaine Wang had a pair of doubles and an RBI, but it wasn’t enough as Woodinville beat Redmond, 12-2, in six inning of a Kingco 4A game Tuesday at Hartman Park.

Melissa White also had two hits for the Mustangs, who trailed 9-2 after five innings. White took the loss for the Mustangs after giving up 17 hits and four walks.
