City seeks input on Education Hill traffic revision

Now that drivers on Education Hill have had time to experience a new travel environment along the 166 Avenue NE corridor, the city is looking for comments about the completed project.

Now that drivers on Education Hill have had time to experience a new travel environment along the 166 Avenue NE corridor, the city is looking for comments about the completed project.

A survey posted to the City’s web site at www.redmond.gov/surveys asks questions of area residents and commuters about the new traffic signal on 166 Avenue NE at NE 104 Street and about the four to three-lane conversion in front of Redmond Junior High.

The primary goal of the revisions to 166 Avenue NE was to improve safety for the many school-aged pedestrians who navigate the area on their way to and from the four public schools located in the vicinity. The new traffic signal more clearly defines right-of-way for drivers and pedestrians while the lane changes on 166 Avenue NE creates a safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists.

Results of the 166 Avenue NE Corridor Project survey will not only provide valuable feedback to city staff, but will help determine next steps for the corridor. The survey will be available on the City’s web site through Wednesday, May 6.

Questions about the survey can be directed to Susan Byszeski in Transportation Services at sbyszeski@redmond.gov or at 425-556-2882.
