“Harriet’s Halloween Candy” is based on a popular children’s book by Nancy Carlson. SSR’s production is directed by Kim Ferse with music direction by Cathy Bleecker.

Harriet loves Halloween. She loves dressing up, hanging out with her friends and getting all that delicious, gooey, chewy, chocolaty sweet candy. What she does not love is having to share with her baby brother, Walter, even when her parents make her.

To keep her stash safe, Harriet tries hiding it. When her friends find out she’s been hoarding all the goodies for herself, they turn their backs on her selfish ways. Her obsession has landed her in a sticky mess. But with the help of her mother, Harriet proves that she knows nothing is sweeter than a true friend.

“Harriet’s Halloween Candy” features the performing talents of Jillian Boshart (Harriet), Jeff Hitchin (Dad), Pat Haines-Ainsworth (Mom), Andrew Murray (Walter/Luanne), Peter Nolte (Ed), Bobby Temple (George), and Aryn Nemiroff (Tina.)

SSR’s Children’s Theater Series is appropriate for grade school aged children. Families with younger children are welcome to attend all-ages performances on Sundays at 1 p.m.
