A free, two-day course for multiple sclerosis (MS) patients and their partners is being offered from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays, June 5 and 12 at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center, 12040 NE 128th St. in Kirkland. The course, called “Tending the Fire,” helps couples deal with the impact of MS.
The course includes short presentations, exercises, individual reflection, partner dialogue and small and large group sharing. “Tending the Fire” will teach patients and partners how to keep MS from dominating their lives. Course leaders Marsha and John Baumann have been dealing with MS as a couple since 1999.
