Eastside STEM scholars honored

Eighteen young women from the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) were honored as STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) scholars by the Kirkland-Redmond Branch of the AAUW (American Association of University Women) at an April 23 presentation at the LWSD Resource Center.

The awardees were:

Redmond High School: science, Emma Chao; technology, Kelly Jiang; math, Kitty Yue Li.

Nikola Tesla STEM High School: science, Kaimyn O’Neill; technology, Alka Pai; math, Maya Ganesan.

Eastlake High School: math, Ashwathy Goutham; technology, Cheng (Amy) Shan.

Emerson High School: math, Gabriella Nitschke.

International Community School: science, Jacqueline Chai; technology, Alina Liokumovich;  math, Madeleine McDermott.

Juanita High School: science, Tess Pate; technology, Jaisa Nunn; math, Abby Bergman.

Lake Washington High School: science, Ekaterina Matora; technology, Kim Veldee; math, Chelsea Le.
