The Lake Washington School District has three important propositions on the Feb. 9 election ballot, including two renewal levies and a bond measure. If passed, the levy measures would fund daily operations items in the district’s budget that are critical for our schools to succeed as well as capital projects needed to maintain buildings and technology. The construction and modernization bond would help the district deal with significant projected enrollment growth.
These funding sources are critical to our local schools, and I urge your readers to support them. They will not only help ensure a quality education to existing students in the school district, but also help the district prepare for the 1,300 additional students that are expected in the district by 2014.
The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties has endorsed all three propositions because we recognize that quality schools benefit everyone and represent a vital element to our region’s quality of life. Please support the Lake Washington School District levy and bond measures.
