Starting today, Redmond High seniors Lyle and Oliver Rudnicki will be among 78 junior golfers worldwide to participate in the Nature Valley First Tee Open, which pairs junior golfers with Champions Tour professionals.

Oliver will be paired with Steve Lowery, a three-time PGA Tour champion who last won at Pebble Beach in 2008, and Lyle will be paired with David Peoples, a two-time PGA Tour winner who has made the cut in all 32 Champions Tour events he has played in his career.

The tournament will run from today through Sunday at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Del Monte Golf Course on California’s Monterey Peninsula and will be televised live on the Golf Channel.

The Rudnicki twins were selected through a process that evaluates participants’ playing ability and comprehension of the life skills and character education learned through their involvement with The First Tee, a worldwide program that seeks to positively impact the lives of youths through golf, building character, values and healthy choices.

Pebble Beach, one of the most famous golf courses in the world, has hosted the U.S. Open five times and was ranked as the No. 1 course in the United States by Golf Digest.
