Black Raven hosts Halloween event, helps ‘scare away hunger’ with food donations

Black Raven Brewing Company, 14679 NE 95th St. in Redmond, will host a Halloween event combining a new product release, free food and a collection for Northwest Harvest.

The event runs from noon-10 p.m.Saturday, Oct. 31. At 6 p.m., Black Raven will tap a wooden firkin of Strong Scotch Ale, accompanied by live bagpipe music. Half-brats, sauerkraut and other snacks will be served. Costumes are strongly encouraged.

To help “scare away hunger,” guests are asked to bring non-perishable food donations for Northwest Harvest.

General food items being requested are oatmeal, whole grain pastas, brown rice, tomato products, canned vegetables and fruit (especially low sugar varieties but not with artificial sweeteners), canned fish or meat (especially low-fat) and shelf-stable milk.

Also needed are baby formula, canned or powdered milk, infant cereal, jars of baby food and diapers.
