On April 12, the Metropolitan King County Council’s Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee will be holding a meeting to give Redmond and other Eastside residents the opportunity to voice their opinions about the proposed Metro Transit service changes in east King County.

The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mercer Island Community Center, 8236 SE 24th St.

The changes will affect 27 lines and come as a result of Metro’s due to the RapidRide B Line, which will run between Bellevue and Redmond. The B Line will feature new buses designed for faster boarding and exiting, new stations with real-time bus arrival signs, faster fare collection and a transit signal priority system.

With this additional service, Metro will be changing or discontinuing certain related transit routes. The special meeting is an opportunity for the transit users and the public to comment on the proposed changes.
