Seattle Mariners relief pitcher Mark Lowe was at the Redmond TOP Food Tuesday afternoon to interact with fans as part of a fundraiser for St. Jude Catholic Church. In between signing autographs, The Redmond Reporter, asked Lowe a few questions. Here are his answers:

Q: Is it hot enough for you? You must be used to it being from Texas?

A: It’s getting warm. I’m not really used to it any more, but it’s not humid, so it’s not that bad.

Q: The weather has been hot, but the M’s hit a recent cold spell. What do the M’s need to do to get back on a winning track?

A: We need to play 162 games. You’re not on a hot streak at all for 162 games straight, you have to go through the ups and downs. We had a little (slump) earlier in the year that we came out of and played great baseball for the last month and a half. I don’t think anyone in that clubhouse is worried about it.

Q: With trade rumors swirling around the Mariners, what’s the atmosphere like in the clubhouse?

A: It’s been no different. We’re coming in every day, ready to go.

Q: Being a younger player and getting the experience playing for a team that has a lot of these trade rumors, do you take a different approach?

A: Not at all, I mean, you can’t control what happens. We just come in here every day and we do what we have to do to play the game that night, and that’s all we can focus on.
