Music, moviemaking and other arts are alive and well at the Old Fire House Teen Center (OFH), 16510 NE 79th St., this fall. The following classes and workshops are open to all teens, 13-19:

• Advanced Band 201 is a specialized course for music students who already know the basics of being in a band and want to refine their skills as musicians and performers. Participants will play, record, write and perform music under the guidance of a mentor. Students will need to bring their guitars, basses, small practice amps, cords, picks and drum sticks.

Session 1 has already started, but Session 2 runs Oct. 20-Nov. 17, Mondays 3-4:30 p.m. or 4:30-6 p.m.

Cost is $150 for Redmond residents, $180 non-residents.

• Group Music Lessons will run on Tuesdays, at various times and in various sessions between September and December. Beginning Guitar, Intermediate Guitar and Drums/Percussion 101 courses are available. Cost for each six-week course is $210 for residents, $245 non-residents.

• Theatre Sports: Improv Your Life is perfect for fans of “Whose Line Is it Anyway?” Learn to be spontaneous, think on your feet and end up in hilarious and impossible scenarios.

The course runs Mondays, 5-6:30 p.m. Nov. 10-Dec. 8. Cost is $90 for residents, $108 non-residents.

• Photoshop Elements 101 gives students skills they can apply to school projects and art work, such as flyers, posters, greeting cards and multimedia presentations. This class is a must for those who want a career in digital design.

Classes run Mondays and Tuesdays, 3:30-5 p.m. Oct. 13-Nov. 18. Cost is $65 for residents, $77 non-residents.

• Moviemaker Basic offers an opportunity to see what a career in film editing might be like. Students will learn to edit video and photos, complete with effects, titles and credits, which can be downloaded to Web format. The skills are useful for school projects and possible careers in the film industry.

Classes run Mondays and Tuesdays, 3:30-5 p.m. Nov. 24-Dec. 16. Cost is $63 for residents, $75 non-residents.
