Andy Nystrom, the longtime editor and reporter at the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter, will take over the editing duties at the Redmond Reporter, starting Tuesday.

Nystrom replaces Bill Christianson, who will resign on Friday to become a stay-at-home dad after a five-year tenure as editor of the Redmond Reporter.

Nystrom, a Seattle resident, started his journalism career in 1990, at the Los Altos Town Crier in northern California.

Nystrom has worked for the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter since its inception in 2002 and has served as the newspaper’s editor since 2007. Before becoming editor, he wrote sports and business stories for the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter and its predecessor, the Northshore Citizen, along with the Redmond Reporter and Bellevue Reporter.

Nystrom, a San Jose State University graduate, is an award-winning writer and photographer, has written for music publications, and was the Sports Ticker reporter for the former Seattle Reign American Basketball League women’s team.
