In response to Bob Yoder’s comment in the Redmond Reporter on Oct. 19:

I totally agree that longer-time residents on the hills in Redmond are overburdened with high utility costs and levies.

Why do people on fixed incomes tolerate the highest stormwater and wastewater costs? There needs to be an adjustment made by the council, please!

Also, the costs of new projects, affordable housing, increases in stormwater and wastewater need to be shared by all newcomers, not just long-time residents.

Otherwise, we will all be searching for affordable housing soon outside of Redmond.

If the council has a surplus budget, they should not ask for property-tax and wastewater increases from older residents over 60 years of age.
