The Redmond High School boys’ and girls track and field teams ran away with wins Thursday against Roosevelt.

Redmond junior Alex Binkerd won the 100 meters, the 200 and long jump as the Mustang boys won the Kingco 4A meet, 77-59. On the girls side, Jessica Kinssies was a double winner, claiming victories in the shot put and discus as the Mustang girls beat the Roughriders 87-63. Both teams improved to 3-1 in league meets.

Binkerd edged teammate Nikolaj la Cour, 11.4 seconds to 11.5 to win the 100. Binkerd also ran to victory in the 200 with a time of 23.0. Teammate Brady Anderson finished second in 24.4.

Redmond junior swept the hurdles events, winning the 110s in 17.1 and the 300s in 43.7.

In girls action, Kinssies won the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 3 inches and the discus with a toss of 89-7.

Redmond girls’ golf team extends Kingco win streak to 91

The Redmond High School girls’ golf team extended its Kingco 4A winning streak to 91 Thursday with a 239-316 victory over Garfield.

Senior Keira O’Hearn earned medalist honors, firing a 40 at the par-36 Jefferson Park Golf Course in Seattle.

Redmond boys’ soccer falls to Woodinville

Andrew Leadbeater scored another goal Thursday night against Woodinville, but it wasn’t enough as the Falcons beat the Mustangs, 2-1, in a Kingco 4A soccer game at Walter L. Seabloom Field.

With the loss, the Mustangs fell to 3-2 in the league standings and 7-3 overall. Lucas Reiller and Duncan Luth each scored goals for the Falcons before Leadbeater put Redmond on the board in the 70th minute.
