Redmond Police arrested a man and two juveniles for strong-arm robbery on Wednesday after investigating two different incidents at bus stops.
At around 4 p.m., Redmond police responded to a bus stop in the 15400 block of Northeast 51st Street to investigate a reported strong-armed robbery.
The victim, a 28-year-old Seattle man, reported he was assaulted by three male suspects while he was waiting for a bus. The victim claims the suspects hit him several times and forcefully took his jacket that he had been wearing.
The suspects then fled in an awaiting vehicle that was parked close by. Both the victim and witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a maroon sports utility vehicle and provided a Washington state vehicle license plate number.
About three hours later, Redmond police responded to investigate another theft that had just occurred at another bus stop.
This time, a 53-year-old woman from Redmond was waiting for the bus in the 4200 block of 148th Avenue Northeast and had her purse stolen.
She told officers she had been approached by a male who started talking to her when suddenly another male ran by and grabbed her purse. The first male then told her he would chase the suspect to get her purse back.
A short time later, while reporting the incident to the officers, this same male was seen running to a maroon sports utility vehicle that had pulled to the curb of 148th Avenue Northeast.
The victim indicated that the male was the witness who had offered to help. A subsequent investigation by officers and detectives determined that this was both the vehicle and suspects involved in these incidents.
Officers arrested an 18-year-old male from Tukwila, a juvenile male from SeaTac and a juvenile male from Renton and the vehicle was impounded, awaiting a search warrant.
Single-car crash causes power outage
Redmond police officers responded to a one-car, non-injury traffic collision last Friday night at 11:45 p.m.
The vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing temporary power outages and road closures on 159th Place Northeast between Northeast Redmond Way and Northeast Leary Way.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of Alcohol.
