• Head Coach: Julie Barashkoff, 7th year
• 2010 turnout numbers: 27
KEY RETURNERS
• Sr. Heather Harper: Returning state runner-up in the 100 breatstroke is aiming for gold this year. Has gotten stronger and faster in the off-season and is one of the best all-around swimmers in 4A Kingco.
• Sr. Allison Binkerd: Another solid breastroker will also help the Mustangs in the backstroke. Returning district swimmer could make state if she continues to improve throughout the season.
TOP NEWCOMERS
• Jr. Kisa Iosbe: Exchange student is “looking good in practice” and will be a solid contributor in the freestyle and relay events, Barashkoff said.
• Soph. Hannah Stephens: Breaststroker should benefit from training with Harper and Binkerd. Look for her to improve during each meet.
BIG MEET
• Wednesday, Oct. 20 vs. Eastlake, Lake Washington and Juanita: This four-way Lake Washington School District meet will be a great tuneup for the postseason for Redmond swimmers and divers.
COACH’S CORNER
“We love working out outside. This pool is great. We’re a close-knit bunch of girls and we have a good time out here.” — Redmond coach Julie Barashkoff on the team practicing at Kingsgate Highlands Pool, an outdoor facility in Kirkland.
