Vader nabs burglary suspects | Redmond Police Blotter

Vader — the Redmond Police dog, not the 80's pro wrestler or intergalactic tyrant — tracked down two burglary suspects at Highland Middle School on June 15. That and plenty more from Redmond Police Department incident reports between the dates of June 10 and June 16.

Monday, June 16

Timeless: Redmond Police investigated a theft call in the 7900 block of 178th Place Northeast. A wrist watch was taken from a tote bag left unlocked in a locker.

On the prowl: An XM radio and registration was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 8500 block of Avondale Road.

Sunday, June 15

Vader tracks down suspects: Bellevue Police requested K-9 assistance to find two burglary suspects, who broke into Highland Middle School in the 15000 block of Northeast Bel-Red Road. Redmond Police dog Vader searched the area and found the two suspects, who were arrested for burglary.

Tools taken: Somebody stole power tools from the bed and cab of an unlocked pickup truck in the 3800 block of 175th Avenue Northeast.

Saturday, June 14

Bouncing the bouncer: A man tried to assault a bouncer at a bar in the 7800 block of Leary Way and then made threats he would return. The man left on a motorcycle before police officer arrived. Police are investigating the incident.

Water logged: A resident who lives in the 9400 block of Red-Wood Road reported that someone dumped water into the gas tank of his car during the middle of the night.

Friday, June 13

Sour tunes: Sometime in the middle of the night, somebody kicked in the door of a resident’s home in the 8100 block of 172nd Avenue Northeast and stole two guitars and a laptop computer.

Drunk and dumb: A drunk man was seen punching a window of a vehicle parked in the Overlake Safeway parking lot. Police responded and arrested the man for malicious mischief. He was then transported to King County Jail when he became uncooperative with police.

Thursday, June 12

Missing bike: A woman reported her bike was stolen from her garage in the 16200 block of Northeast 36th Way. The bike was stored in the unlocked garage for 20 days before it got ripped off.

Wednesday, June 11

Theft: A stereo, valued at $250, was stolen from a vehicle, parked in the 15300 block of Redmond Way. The suspect entered the vehicle by prying the front passenger window and unlocking the door.

Tuesday, June 10

Tires, rims stolen: The rims and tires of a high-end vehicle were stolen from a used-car lot, located in the 7700 block of 159th Place Northeast, in the middle of the night.
