Ketki and Mallika Ketkar of the Kaizen Academy of Redmond have notched fencing medals on the national and international levels.

The Skyline High twins attended the United States Fencing Summer National Championship in Columbus, Ohio. Mallika won the Division 3 Women’s Epee championship amongst 177 fencers across all ages and also won a medal for her coaches. In Youth (under-15 category) Women’s Epee, Ketki took fifth and Mallika took 11th.

Both girls earned recognition for their fencing and academic achievements and were selected to the USA Fencing All-American First Team.

Ketki was chosen to represent the United States at the Cadet World Cup (women’s epee) in Budapest, Hungary, on Oct. 5. Her team won the gold, and in the individual event, she took sixth amongst 290 cadet epeeists from around the world.
