Boy Scout troops will be driving through neighborhoods on Jan. 7 and 8 to collect and recycle Christmas trees as a community service project.

Residents will have received a flyer on their doorstep if their area is covered with details. This is a community service project, but donations are greatly appreciated as described on the flyer and will fund the Boy Scouts program for 2012. Troop 557 also has a drop off area in the QFC parking lot on the corner of Northeast 90th Street and 161st Avenue Northeast between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. People can leave their trees or ask about joining the Boy Scouts.
