Bothell defeated Redmond, 6-5, in the opening round of the 4A Wes-King District softball playoffs on May 10 at Phil Johnson Fields in Everett.

Redmond led 5-0 after three innings, and Bothell scored four in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Haley Hanson and Jennifer Cummings nailed two hits each for Redmond, which received RBIs from Kiki Milloy, Audrey Walker and Lindsay Tsujikawa.

Redmond will play in a loser-out game against Newport at 5 p.m. May 15.

Districts run through May 17 and the top five teams advance to state.
