The Redmond Firefighters Union is offering two scholarships again this year. Applications are due on March 1, 2019.
The Redmond Firefighters Union, IAFF Local 2829, is offering a $1,000 scholarship to the Redmond community. Each applicant must be applying as a full-time student to an accredited university, vocational or technical program. The scholarship will be awarded to the deserving individual who completes the application and essay and is judged to reflect the Redmond Firefighters Union values.
The Redmond Firefighters Benevolent Fund is also offering a $1,000 scholarship, available to students who have financial need. Each applicant must be applying as a full-time student into an accredited college, university, vocational or technical program.
Both scholarships are open to high school seniors who live or attend school within the city of Redmond and King County Fire District 34 borders. This includes Redmond High School, Bear Creek and Overlake schools, as well as home schooled and GED students who are less than 20 years old.
