Margaret Harris remains in stable condition after a head-on car crash on Aug. 24, which claimed two lives — her husband 68-year-old Steven Harris and 16-year-old Taylor Griffith.

Steven Harris was a former chief for the Redmond Police Department (RPD), having served the department for 28 years. Griffith was an Eastlake High School student.

Steven was driving a Ford Explorer, which collided with Griffith’s pickup truck along Redmond-Fall City Road at 244th Avenue Northeast, according to a Washington State Patrol press memo. Both drivers died at the scene.

After the accident, Margaret was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Lt. Julie Beard with RPD said the memorial service for Steven is being put off until Margaret is released from the hospital and able to attend.
