The 26th annual PAWSwalk will romp into King County’s Marymoor Park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 26. Pet owners and animal lovers can register for the event (PAWSwalk.net) to raise funds for the thousands of homeless, injured, sick and orphaned dogs, cats and wild animals cared for at PAWS facilities in Lynnwood and Seattle.

Up to 1,200 animal fans and their dogs are expected to take part in the 5K walk/fun run followed by animal-friendly food trucks and mimosa garden, dog agility demonstrations and educational vendor booths. For those looking to expand their family, puppies and adult dogs will be available for on-site adoption. The event will feature 50th anniversary touches such as retro tie-dyed T-shirts and commemorative pins

PAWS – celebrating its 50th year – depends on private donations raised through events such as PAWSwalk to help fund its lifesaving work. In 2016, PAWS staff cared for 4,333 homeless dogs and cats and 4,460 wild animals.
