Redmond freshman Adithi Anand notched first place at the 3A district girls golf tourney on Monday at Riverbend Golf Course in Kent.

She shot 36-37-73 and advances to the state tournament on May 23-24 at Canyon Lakes in Kennewick. Abby Euyang of Lakeside took second with 37-37-74.

Also qualifying for state from Redmond are Lauren Settle (41-37-78) and Rachel Jonson (46-44-90). Settle took fourth and Jonson tied for 16th.

Redmond placed second in the team standings with 51 points, just behind leader Interlake with 52.5.

• For Redmond’s boys, Sean Kato, Connor Golembeski and Michael Cummings will compete at state on May 23-24 at Columbia Point Golf Club in Richland.
