Yes, change is inevitable, and we’ve experienced some of it here at Reporter Newspapers lately.

People come and go, and we wish them well and thank them profusely for all the hard work they delivered while they were within our walls and out and about talking with residents and community officials.

Redmond Reporter employees work closely with our colleagues at our other papers, such as the Kirkland and Bothell-Kenmore Reporters.

So on that note, we are elated that super reporter Samantha Pak, who has been with us for six and a half years, has been promoted to editor of those Kirkland and Bothell-Kenmore publications. She replaces top-notch editor Matt Phelps, who ran the show over there for five years and is now working in communications for Snohomish County Public Works.

That’s a solid duo for you, folks.

And now… back in our Sound Publishing corner is Aaron Kunkler, who is unleashing his stellar reportage in the Redmond community as we speak. He formerly worked for the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter before moving on to The Chronicle in Centralia.

He graduated from Central Washington University in 2015 with a degree in journalism and political science and interned at the Yakima Herald Republic.

He lives in Seattle but loves the Eastside too, he says, and is “looking forward to covering all the happenings of Redmond and the surrounding countryside.” When not doing the job, he enjoys playing guitar and DJing deep dubstep and drum and bass.
