Arson: Redmond police took an arson report at 2:49 a.m. in the 2600 block of 152nd Avenue Northeast. An officer responded with fire personnel after a garbage can fire was reported. The small fire was quickly extinguished. A witness provided a possible description of a person seen nearby. The area was checked but nobody matching the given description was located.
Monday, April 3
Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 10:34 a.m. in the 17400 block of Northeast 28th Street. Redmond officers investigated a domestic disturbance. An adult male was subsequently arrested for assault and harassment. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail pending a court appearance.
Sunday, April 2
Counterfeiting: Redmond police took a counterfeiting report at 7:36 p.m. in the 8800 block of 161st Avenue Northeast. A movie theater employee called police after a patron attempted to purchase tickets with a counterfeit $100 bill. The note was collected as evidence but the suspect was not located at the time, although video footage is being reviewed.
Saturday, April 1
Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 11:25 a.m. in the 8300 block of 167th Avenue Northeast. A dispute over housecleaning duties led to a disturbance between a resident and her guest. Officers spoke to both parties and the guest agreed to leave the residence. Prosecutors will review the case for any possible criminal charges.
Friday, March 31
Vandalism: Redmond police took a vandalism report at 8:19 a.m. at the intersection of Northeast 70th Street and 132nd Avenue Northeast. Students at a middle school informed police about graffiti nearby. An officer noted spray paint on the sidewalk and curb. The damage was documented and Redmond Public Works was made aware of the incident. There is no information about who the artist may be.
Thursday, March 30
Theft: Redmond police took a report of theft of vehicle parts at 6:42 p.m. in the 5600 block of 148th Avenue Northeast. A citizen found that both license plates had been stolen from his vehicle. The suspect(s) also left another plate previously reported stolen out of another jurisdiction on the victim’s car. An officer documented the theft and collected the recovered plate as evidence. No suspect information exists at this time.
Wednesday, March 29
Burglary: Redmond police took a residential-burglary report at 10:54 p.m. in the 15600 block of Northeast 96th Way. A resident called police after hearing sounds of a disturbance in an adjoining apartment. Officers arrived and located one subject inside who had forced his way into the unoccupied unit. It was determined that the individual did not live at the residence and did not have permission to be there. The adult male was arrested for residential burglary and felony property damage. He was subsequently booked into jail.
