A Redmond police officer observed nude buttocks illuminated by a streetlight and discovered it was a male running outside in the buff at about 3:30 a.m. Jan. 27 near 15320 Northeast 40th Street.
According to a Redmond Police Department (RPD) release, the officer and her coworker contacted the jogger, who was wearing only black Sketcher sneakers. To shelter the runner from the cold weather, he was placed in a patrol vehicle.
When questioned, the jogger stated, “He was trying to build up his immune system to fight the cold weather.”
According to RPD, nude jogging could be considered indecent exposure. The jogger was not arrested or charged, as there were no victims. Officers identified the jogger and checked his history, and they also contacted nearby police departments to determine if any related sightings or issues had been reported and everything checked out clean.
