A community group will hold a Candlelight Vigil for Progress from 4:30-6 p.m. this Saturday on the Redmond City Hall campus, 15670 N.E. 85th St.
The organizer wrote on the Facebook event page that it will be a peaceful gathering: “Let’s JOIN TOGETHER as a supportive and welcoming community to send a message of solidarity, peace, and tolerance toward our fellow citizens of diverse backgrounds.”

The group plans to meet in front of City Hall next to the water fountain and will utilize the grassy lawn to the north, depending on how many people attend the family friendly event.
The City of Redmond issued a permit on Tuesday and offered the following statement: “The Vigil for Progress is not a city-sponsored event but we welcome events on campus that provide a sense of unity and inclusion.”
