You don’t have a right to run over people

I want to add my voice to the red-light camera outcry. I am dismayed that the law against running a red light is going to be enforced even when the police aren’t present. I’m shocked that I will even have to come to a complete stop before I make a right hand turn through a pedestrian crosswalk. And requiring me to actually slow down in front of an elementary school when the lights are flashing?! Not to mention that the tickets might raise funds for parks and services!

How could our city government even consider such a thing?

Seriously, vehicle collisions maim and kill people every day. Individual rights end when your actions put other people at risk. I’m happy to see law enforcement cameras in school zones and intersections.
