Let me start by saying I really enjoy football. My two favorite teams are playing this weekend, Seattle and Green Bay. Here is my take. Sports fans have complained for years that we should review plays when in doubt. Now it is done way too much.

In fact, it has created more problems than it has solved. An example was the Dallas game and the catch that most thought was complete and then was overturned. This has happened often. So the reviews in many ways have not worked and taken the human element out of it. Plus the games are much longer and maybe it is for more commercial time on TV and radio.

Here is what I see in the future for pro football, maybe college, too. There will be no refs. All players will wear body cameras. In our electronic world, it will not be hard to do. There will be video stations around the stadium and whatever the cameras say, that will be the play that is called. All players will have mini speakers that will tell them the time on the clock before snaps and coaches will decide all the plays from the sidelines. When a ball touches the ground, a light will appear saying the catch is no good or complete.

Fans will be required to vote for the third-down and fourth-down plays and the team that has the ball will have to abide by it.

Ticket prices will skyrocket and one will have to enter a lottery to get them. Only the wealthy will be able to attend. It is that way already.

To see a game on TV will cost a lot of money. The Super Bowl will be very expensive and not shown on regular TV.

I hope none of this comes true.
