A bicyclist traveling westbound on Northeast Union Hill Road in Redmond fell off his bike Saturday morning and sustained a major head injury, according to Sgt. Cindi West of the King County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident occurred at around 10:47 a.m. at Northeast Union Hill Road and 225th Avenue Northeast.

Medics transported the rider to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Response and Reconstruction unit is investigating the accident at this time. West didn’t have the name or age of the rider.

West said on Thursday that she was told the man is expected to recover.
