The Washington Farm Bureau (WFB) has endorsed Joel Hussey in his race for the State House of Representatives in the 45th Legislative District. Hussey, a longtime Redmond resident, has owned and operated Tailwind Capital, a global aircraft leasing firm since 2007. Hussey is running against the four-term incumbent, Roger Goodman.
The Farm Bureau is an almost century-old non-governmental organization that now represents almost 6.5 million member families nationwide. It is the goal of the WFB to make farming more profitable for families in rural regions and assure that farm families have the same goods, services and benefits that are enjoyed by urban citizens.Hussey was first endorsed by the WFB during his 2012 campaign for his emphasis on supporting farm and ranch families who struggle through economic hardships.
During his youth, Hussey spent the summer on his great aunt and uncle’s farm near Spokane. This experience instilled in him a great deal of respect for farming families and the challenges they face each day.
“There are still many families in rural parts of our state who struggle in ways that families in urban regions don’t,” says Hussey. “I am proud to be recognized again by the Farm Bureau; their grassroots advocacy is remarkable.”
