Five Redmond students among new National Merit Scholarship winners

Three Redmond residents, who attended Inglemoor High School, and two other students who attended The Overlake School in Redmond are among more than 1,900 additional winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities.

Eve J. Beausoleil of Redmond received a National Merit Pomona College Scholarship.

Katherine L. Hansen of Redmond received a National Merit St. Olaf College Scholarship.

Gregory M. Kegel of Redmond received a National Merit University of Washington Scholarship.

Claire E. Bazley, who resides in Issaquah, received a National Merit University of Southern California Scholarship.

Chelsea L. Thompson, a Snohomish resident, received a National Merit Scripps College Scholarship.

These Merit Scholar designees join more than 2,800 other college-sponored award recipients announced in late May.

College-sponsored awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.
